Hi,

I have a strange issue with the setup of Lync 2013 with SP1

Ive created two new clean Windows 8.1 VMs (x64 and x86) with no network connection. In addition, Ive downloaded the Lync 2013 with SP1 setup files from the Volume Licensing Service Center.

As we want to deploy only the x86 Version of Lync, I copied out the x86 folder out of the downloaded Lync .iso File.

Now I started the setup.exe with /admin to create a silent file with only these settings

and saved it in the updates folder.

Now I ran the setup.exe and the setup installs without user interaction. No errors at the end no errors in the Event viewer.

However the setup installed just some parts, but the Lync.exe is missing as well as the Shortcut to Lync in the start menu.

When I check "Add-remove Programs => Lync 2013 => Change" everything seems ok, but its not.

When I run the setup without the created silent file, it works perfectly.

Is there a bug in the setup or am I doing something wrong?
